Hello, Im Kitsune and I am sorry for bothering you. But I have a question that no one seems able to answer and I asked everywhere in YouTube and forums.

The question is pretty simple and is about Cryengine 3. Is there a way to make movies/shorts using Cryengine 3? I dont meant recording with a software like fraps or similar. I mean more like exporting all frames so I could make a very high quality short even if it takes 1 or 2 seconds to render per frame.

Thanks in advanced. And if you cant answer my question, is ok, I understand you must be someone really busy. After seeing how much works you have done I feel really small 😛 but after searching and searching is the only website that some people recommend.

Thanks again and good job 😉

Hi Kitsune. The short answer to your question is “yes” :)

    Hi Seith,

I’m a huge fan of your poseLibe. It’s an amazing tool and so generous of you to offer it for free. I’m having a problem, I could not find a solution on the forums. I can open it just fine, but when I try to create a new pose I get the following error: # Error: IOError: 2 Any ideas? I have poseLib on two separate machines, both almost identical. It works fine on one but not the other. I have a saved library of poses that won’t even show up. Thanks in advance for any help. I’m sure your a busy guy.

Hi Kevin. This error usually means that poseLib can not physically access the path where you want to create your new pose. Are you sure that the path actually exists and is not read-only?

    Hi,

I’ve seen your project online, and I absolutely love it, and would like to do some music for it. You can check some older tunes on my website, thought atm I’m working on few new projects ( steampunk webseries, short movie and warcraft: a new dawn sc2 mod ) so most up to date tracks are not publicly available yet. If you would be interested please drop me a line.

    All Best
    Mik

Just curious, why do you use the handle “Seith”

    Hi Seth

can you tell me how to change the height and with of “capture frames” output.
Im using Cryengine2 Sandbox2, the Editor that comes with Crysis Wars DVD.

In the free Cryenine 3 sandbox, in console variables,
when I type in “custom height”, I can see that you can change the height and width of the captures frames.

But in Sandbox 2 ( blue SUV parked on city streets, splash screen)
when I type in “custom height” in console variables,
    Nothing comes up.

I want to set the height and width of the rendered sequence of images (eg. jpeg frames)
    to 1920×1080.
On the CryDev forum, I cant see any answers, and I have gone through the cookbook.

“Screenshot” works in console variables, OK.
    BUT
I want to change the size of the captured image sequence.

also I have been told that the AVI does not work in Sandbox 2.

    thanks

    Hi Seith,
great work on poseLib. Easiest to use pose library by far. Because I’m a lazy animator I’d like to be able to set keys with the same click as I apply a pose. I’ve added a setKeyframe line to the MEL script (Global Procedure to apply keyframes), to set keyframe when a pose is applied to selected channels. This save me many hundreds, perhaps even thousands of clicks a day. I can’t do any better than this because altering the Python module is beyond me I’m afraid. However it’s obviously not the ideal method. If you ever feel like it, it would be great to add a “Set Key when Applying Pose” option.
    Great work anyway.
    Regards
    Mike

I use Maya’s autokey so that poseLib’s behavior is the one you describe. Wouldn’t that work for you?

Guess who is using your pose library? Dreamworks (China). Ironic huh?
    Hope all is well.

    @reza
Thanks Seith for creating poseLib. It is such a useful tool. But the latest version doesn’t have “Edit Options” and “Chars/Categories Manager”. And the older version is not compatible with Maya 2014. Waiting for the response.

    Thanks

You’re welcome! “Edit Options” has disappeared because there are now menus that allow you to do the same thing. The “Chars/Categories Manager” is also gone because you can now directly right-click on the chars/categories to manage them (delete, rename, create new, etc…). I hope that answers your questions.

    @Seith
Thank you very much Seith. I didn’t explore the latest version properly. I played around a bit and found what I was looking for.
